Loren Anderson has 20 years of experience providing broad based civil engineering, environmental, regulatory, energy, oil & gas, and site development programs and services. Currently he is Director of Technical Affairs for the Marcellus Shale Coalition and facilitates and manages technical initiatives undertaken by the coalition to benefit industry and public stakeholders.
Founded in 2008, the Marcellus Shale Coalition works with exploration and production, midstream and supply chain partners in the Appalachian Basin and across the country to address issues regarding the production of clean, job-creating, American natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays.
The coalition provides in-depth information to policymakers, regulators, media and other public stakeholders on the positive effects responsible natural gas production is having on families, businesses, and communities across the region.
Prior to working at the coalition, Mr. Anderson worked 10 years in private consulting as a site/civil engineer and project manager. He has worked for three major engineering and construction firms in Dayton, Ohio, Miami, Florida and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has spent the last 10 years with the Marcellus Shale Coalition.
He grew up in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, graduating from Upper St. Clair High School, during which he had completed summer internships focused on engineering, drafting and design. He attended the University of Dayton and graduated with a degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering, completing internships with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Montgomery County Sanitary Authority. While working full-time he attended night school for two years and graduated with a Masters Degree in Engineering Management from Robert Morris University.
Outside of work, Mr. Anderson has been active in serving his community and has served on the Cecil Township Planning Commission and is currently serving on the Cecil Township Zoning Hearing Board. He and his wife have one daughter and live in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
