Melissa Schulz is a tax analyst in the Tax Policy Division with the Comptroller of Public Accounts. Melissa has been with the Comptroller’s office for over 14 years and is the subject matter expert for Limited Sales and Use Tax, Mixed Beverage Taxes, and Oil and Gas Well Servicing Tax. She drafts and amends tax rules and memos, assists with legislation, provides advance tax trainings, responds to tax inquiries, and works closely with other divisions and state agencies on tax issues. Melissa resides in Austin with her husband and two kids, Evan (4) and Lia (2), and in their spare time they enjoy attending the UT football games to cheer on the Longhorns.
