Scott Mitchell is the co-founder and CEO of Deep Blue Midstream. Deep Blue was formed in 2020 to pursue acquisition and consolidation opportunities in water midstream and infrastructure. Prior to Deep Blue, he co-founded Waterfield in 2018 and served as CEO of that business, which built and commercialized a greenfield gathering and disposal system in the core of the north Midland Basin.

Scott started his energy career at Anadarko Petroleum in 2005 as a geologist. He served in various geological, engineering, and business roles within Anadarko’s upstream organization. In 2015, he moved to the midstream organization to create and commercialize a water midstream business for Western Midstream in the Delaware Basin, which he ran until he departed to form Waterfield.

Scott has a B.A. in Economics and a M.S. in Geology, both from Brigham Young University.
