Mr. Sonoda is Deputy General Manager of Nissan Chemical Corporation. He belongs to Performance Materials Division, Inorganic Materials Department which manufactures and sells nano particle dispersion, mainly silica. He is the leader of New business development group which applies nano technology to wide variety oil & gas applications such as Water shut-off, EOR, CCS fluid, and H₂S scavenger additive.

Mr. Sonoda has worked for their US subsidiary – Nissan Chemical America corporation located in Houston, TX over 5 years as international sales and prior to working for Nissan Chemical, he has experience working as research engineer at Kanebo Co, Ltd. to develop polyvinylformal resin to grind computer memory disk wafer.

Mr. Sonoda has a BS in polymer chemistry of engineering department, from the Gunma University.
