The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) said it issued 83% more drilling permits year/year in August in its East Texas District, which includes the state’s portion of the gassy Haynesville Shale.

Uh Oh… U.S. Drilling Growth Has Ground To A Halt

Quietly, the Texas land rig count is flat since May and down from the recent highs in August. Both the Eagle Ford and Permian rig counts are basically flat over this time period, and so is drilling in the Bakken and Marcellus. Also concerning to the growth outlook, Permian new well permit demand is falling, suggesting that a flat rig count into year-end may be the new bull case. Specifically, drilling permit demand is down 17% so far in 2H22 compared to 1H22 in TX Permian.

New improvements coming to Midland-Odessa roads over the next 10 years

"$489 million has been put in place to support the I-20 development in Midland-Odessa, one of the least safe places in the state to travel. There’s tons of traffic, bridges being hit and so the entire Commission has been to put a lot of funding in the Midland-Odessa area on that project.”
