Rut Roh: ‘Black Goop’ Spills into Susquehanna River from Closed Eureka Plant

Once upon a time, Eureka Resources operated three shale wastewater recycling facilities in the Marcellus region, one in Bradford County, PA, and two in the Williamsport, PA, area (Lycoming County). Now comes word that one of the closed facilities in Williamsport is leaking an "oily substance" that found its way into a storm drain and from there, into the nearby Susquehanna River. A fisherman reported it looked like a "black goop" when reeling in his line.

Ovintiv’s cube development lifts Permian productivity more than 10% in Q2

In the second quarter, Ovintiv reported Permian production averaged 215,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day with 23 net wells turned in line. Capital investment for the full year in the Permian is expected to total $1.2 to $1.25 billion to bring on 130 to 140 net wells.
