Oilfield Water Weekly

On behalf of the Oilfield Water Connection team, thank you to everyone who came out to our Industry Update Conference last Friday at the Houston Petroleum Club. Whether you sponsored, spoke or attended – your presence contributed to a highly productive day for the industry we serve.

This well-attended event set the tone for the oilfield water management business into year-end and 2020. All of the panels and presenters knocked it out of the park. Some of the many highlights include:

  • Solaris CEO Bill Zartler devoted much of his keynote slot to Q&A, and the thoughtful questions asked and answered during that session advanced the industry knowledge curve
  • Audience engagement on the Chevron panel was also extremely high, with questions from other big operators steering the discussion in a way that gave vendors unparalleled insight on business development
  • Wood Mackenzie presented their in-depth Permian water type curve analysis for the first time publicly, challenging everyone in the room to think deeper about water production forecasts – an issue critical to valuations, transactions, and infrastructure investment
  • Our land owner panel gave a voice to some of the Permian’s longest tenured stakeholders, helping industry executives better understand how to get land deals done around water
  • Market trends in full-cycle oilfield water management were explored by Brent Halldorson’s talk, the commercial evolution panel discussion, Marshall Adkin’s macro outlook, and a great sustainability/policy presentation from Kylie Wright

And of course, no Oilfield Water Connection event would be complete without a lively networking reception with some classic water tunes playing in the background. Familiar strands of the Doobie Brothers classic “Black Water” closed out another successful event…

Please save the date for our next event, which will be held in DFW May 27-28, 2020… more details on our Oilfield Water Markets 2020 Conference are coming soon.
